Working Alone

Some agents prefer to work alone. Knowing that you are ultimately responsible for your success or failure can be appealing to a person who usually chooses to work alone. An agent working alone does not have to worry if her teammate is doing his fair share; she knows that she is doing it all. Agents who work alone generally enjoy being in control of the transaction and knowing what the steps are from start to finish. They are not unhappy doing it all, but instead may even like the process.

A lone agent can still be very successful, especially if he surrounds himself with others who can aid in that success. Backup agents and assistants, other real estate professionals, and even building a team of agents beneath you (where you are the head of the team and the team members are your employees) will give you the benefits of the team and the autonomy of working alone.
