Bloody Mary with Fresh Tomatoes and Spices

This is a delicious, nonalcoholic version of the popular cocktail. Some optional garnishes include pickle spears or lemon slices.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 2

  • 5 large tomatoes
  • ½ teaspoon fresh horseradish (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt (optional)
  • 2 cups ice
  • 2 celery sticks
  • 6 olives
  1. Juice tomatoes and horseradish if using, and mix with black pepper, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, and salt (optional).

  2. Fill 2 pint glasses with 1 cup of ice each and put 1 celery stick into each glass.

  3. Fill pint glasses with tomato mixture and garnish with olives.
