Sunflower Onion Crackers
This is a delicious cracker to serve with hummus dip. It can be used to make a sandwich or crumbled onto a salad.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 8
- 2 cups flaxseeds
- 2 cups sunflower seeds
- 4 cups sweet onions
- ½ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup nama shoyu
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
Grind the flaxseeds to a powder in a coffee grinder.
Grind the sunflower seeds in a food processor. Pour into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
Process the sweet onions in a food processor until they are small pieces.
Stir and mix all ingredients together in the mixing bowl.
Spread the mixture onto dehydrator trays with nonstick sheets. Dehydrate at 145°F for 2 hours. Lower the temperature to 110°F and continue dehydrating 8 to 12 hours. After 4 hours, flip the crackers onto mesh sheets and remove the nonstick sheets.
