Sunflower Onion Crackers

This is a delicious cracker to serve with hummus dip. It can be used to make a sandwich or crumbled onto a salad.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 8

  • 2 cups flaxseeds
  • 2 cups sunflower seeds
  • 4 cups sweet onions
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup nama shoyu
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
  1. Grind the flaxseeds to a powder in a coffee grinder.

  2. Grind the sunflower seeds in a food processor. Pour into a large mixing bowl and set aside.

  3. Process the sweet onions in a food processor until they are small pieces.

  4. Stir and mix all ingredients together in the mixing bowl.

  5. Spread the mixture onto dehydrator trays with nonstick sheets. Dehydrate at 145°F for 2 hours. Lower the temperature to 110°F and continue dehydrating 8 to 12 hours. After 4 hours, flip the crackers onto mesh sheets and remove the nonstick sheets.
