Minding a toddler is a demanding full-time job. It’s no wonder that caregivers look forward to toddlers’ sleep time like thirsty desert wanderers crawling toward an oasis. For many parents, the child’s time asleep is the only time they can have a few quiet moments alone, work on a hobby, return phone calls, take care of mail, or have an adult conversation. Like everything else about toddlers, the need for sleep varies dramatically from child to child, from nine hours to thirteen hours or more.
