Herbed Cottage Cheese Wrap

Chives are a great way to add extra flavor to cottage cheese — besides adding onion flavor, they are low in fat and calories. Feel free to use a flavored tortilla wrap, such as spinach or red pepper.

Serves 2

Preparation time: 10 minutes

1 cup cottage cheese

1 tablespoon low-fat French dressing

¼ cup chopped chives

¼ teaspoon salt, or to taste

Black pepper, to taste

4 tortilla wraps

  • In a medium bowl, combine the cottage cheese, French dressing, chopped chives, salt, and pepper, stirring to mix well.

  • Lay out a tortilla wrap in front of you. Spread one-quarter of the cottage cheese mixture on the bottom half of the wrap, taking care not to come too close to the edges. Roll up the wrap.

  • Fill the rest of the wraps. Serve immediately or store in a resealable plastic bag in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Spicy Cottage Cheese

The mild flavor of cottage cheese pairs nicely with many types of herbs and spices. Instead of French dressing and chives, try adding a pinch of ground cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract. For more heat, blend the cottage cheese with a pinch of cayenne pepper and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
