Grilled Steak and Onion Salad

This marinade tenderizes lean flank steak, making it perfect for grilling.

Serves 4

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 10–12 minutes

¼ cup balsamic vinegar

¼ cup olive oil

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 shallots, chopped

½ teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley

1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil leaves

1½ pounds flank steak

3 cups packaged salad greens

  • Preheat the grill.

  • In a medium bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, shallots, salt, parsley, and basil.

  • Arrange the beef on the hottest part of the grill. Brush with the balsamic vinegar dressing.

  • Grill the beef, turning occasionally and basting with the dressing, until it is cooked (about 8 minutes)

  • Let the steak rest for 2 to 3 minutes. Cut into thin strips and serve with the salad greens.
