Pasta Pilaf
Orzo, or rosamarina pasta, is shaped like grains of rice. This recipe is an excellent choice for people who have trouble cooking rice.
SERVES 8
INGREDIENTS
- 1 8-ounce package orzo pasta
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Dash pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Bring large pot of water to a boil and cook pasta according to package directions.
Meanwhile, melt butter in heavy saucepan and cook onion and garlic over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes, until tender. Add thyme, salt, and pepper; cover; and remove from heat.
Drain the pasta thoroughly and add to onion mixture. Cook and stir over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, until hot and blended.
Stir in Parmesan cheese and serve.
