Grilled Ham Steak

Ham steak is a fully cooked slice of ham that may or may not contain a bone. All you have to do is season it if you'd like and heat it.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Texmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • ¾ cup orange marmalade
  • 2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ½ teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 1½-pound ham steak
  1. Prepare and heat grill. In large saucepan, combine rice and 2 cups water; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, in medium saucepan, combine all remaining ingredients except ham and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 4 minutes.

  3. Place ham steak on grill and brush with some of the glaze. Cover and grill for 4 minutes; turn ham steak and brush with more of the glaze.

  4. Cover and grill for 3 to 5 minutes, until ham steak is thoroughly heated. Keep cooking marinade while ham is grilling. Serve with remaining marinade over rice.
