Ice Cream with Mix-Ins
This new trend in ice cream lets you decide what to add: one or all of the toppings! Work on a marble surface and let your guests pick the additions.
SERVES 4
INGREDIENTS
- 2–3 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup Candied Nuts, chopped
- 4 squares plain Brownies from Layered Brownies
- 4 Choco-Peanut Crunchers, chopped
- 4 Graham Cracker Crisps, chopped
Prepare all toppings. Let ice cream stand at room temperature for 10 minutes to soften slightly.
Place ½ to ¾ cup ice cream on a cold marble or granite surface and sprinkle desired toppings over.
Using two spatulas, chop the ice cream and the toppings together and fold until mixed.
Scoop into a serving dish and continue with remaining ice cream and remaining toppings.
Marble Tiles
You can find inexpensive marble or granite tiles at discount stores and home improvement centers. It must be marble or granite to keep the ice cream cold while you work. Clean it thoroughly with soap and water and keep it in the freezer to make ice cream with mix-ins anytime.
