Parmesan Crescents
Thaw puff pastry as directed on the package. These little rolls are crisp and tender, nicely flavored with cheese. They are delicious served with hot soup or stew, or alongside a grilled steak.
YIELDS 8 rolls
INGREDIENTS
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
- ½ teaspoon dried basil leaves
Preheat oven to 375°F. Sprinkle half of cheese on work surface and place pastry on cheese. Roll out puff pastry to a 12″ × 12″ sheet.
Brush surface with egg and sprinkle evenly with remaining Parmesan cheese and the basil leaves.
Cut pastry into four 6″ × 6″ squares, then cut each square in half diagonally to form 8 triangles. Loosely roll up triangles to form a crescent and place on parchment paper-lined cookie sheets; curve ends to form a crescent shape.
Bake at 375°F for 10 to 14 minutes or until rolls are puffed and golden brown.
