Add a Sound Track

A great way to capture the audience's attention is with an audiotape or CD. You might need to wake them up, after some dull prior speeches, with the opening chords of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony as you walk on stage. Or, if you want to put the crowd into an inspired mood, end your talk with a piece that is uplifting.

Alert

There are lots of audiotapes and CDs available for rental or pur-chase, ranging from the speeches of Martin Luther King Jr. to radio jingles. But paid speakers especially should ask for permission from copyright holders and may have to pay a performance fee for contemporary songs, for example.
