Astral Projection in Four Parts
Experiences of astral projection may be physical or mental, and they may occur spontaneously or be consciously evoked. Let's look at the physical out-of-body experiences first. These experiences involve transportation of your physical form so that you have actual physical experiences through all your senses. A physical out-of-body experience can be very powerful. However, it can also cause much more stress if you are not balanced and grounded.
It is also possible for your mental body to separate from your physical body. With this type of out-of-body experience, you would not feel your body traveling with you. You would be more of an observer than a participant. When you come back, you might remember your out-of-body experience in the form of new wisdoms, insights, or visions.
Spontaneous Astral Projection
Some of your out-of-body experiences may occur spontaneously, without warning. In such cases you are not aware of what is going to happen until it happens, and suddenly you are on some type of astral plane. You may be transported out of your physical body, or you may feel your physical body itself lifting up. You may find yourself suspended in midair or in a specific location, which you may or may not recognize.
The spontaneous out-of-body experience is usually the one that causes a great deal of concern to the traveler. It can first happen at any time, and when you have no knowledge of what astral projection is, you will have no choice but to be totally unprepared. You may have had such an experience and now live in fear that it may happen again. These spontaneous experiences often happen when you are ungrounded and in a state of some sort of confusion. It is during this unbalanced state that you are open to the energies that enter your chakras and cause an out-of-body experience.
If you have experienced spontaneous out of-body experiences before, and you worry about them happening again, develop a technique to keep yourself grounded and always connected to the golden thread of the Universe. Give yourself a key word (or an anchor) that can bring you instantly back.
Learn to recognize the conditions that help produce your spontaneous out-of-body experiences. If you are aware of what takes place just before you leave, you can interrupt the astral projection and bring yourself back to consciousness.
Planned Out-of-Body Experiences
A planned out-of-body experience is one that you specifically strive to achieve. This is done through properly preparing yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. The better you take care of your physical body with proper diet and exercise, the better prepared you will be to handle the exertion that astral travelers sometimes feel. Otherwise, you run the risk of facing health issues.
Being in the proper mental and spiritual frame of mind is also very important for an out-of-body experience. If you are out of balance, confused, or focused on anything but peace and love, your trip may not be a positive and productive one. If you are in tune with your Belief and ask that you receive the proper experience, you will be much more prepared. You may go where you want to go, or you may wind up in a place where you are supposed to be.
Before you try astral projection, make sure you are very comfortable with the technique and that you trust it for safe use for out-of-body experiences. And always remember that you may always come back to consciousness at any time.
