The controlling phase goes hand in hand with the planning and execution. However, it is just as important and active as the planning phase. In the controlling phase, the project manager is making adjustments to all of the plans based on the actions and information received in the execution phase. This is the stage where you react to the information, help understand the new direction, and continue to monitor to make sure the project is progressing as planned.
