While not all cases will end up in court, many will. If you work for attorneys it's even more probable that you'll be required to testify and present evidence to a jury. Because of this, you must be familiar with certain basic laws and aware of rules of courtroom demeanor. This chapter will provide an overview of these issues, but exposure to the process will be necessary to refine your knowledge and expertise. Other elements of casework, such as surveillance, records, reports, and testifying in court have been given chapters of their own, but will be easy to plug into this process.
