Food Allergies
Food allergies can have adverse bowel and bladder effects, from diarrhea to constipation to bladder irritation. The following are common culprits. Talk to your pediatrician about eliminating them from your child's diet for ten days to two weeks to see if the problem improves, only to recur when the food is eaten once again.
Milk and dairy products. (Remember that cheese and butter contain milk!)
Carbonated beverages.
Artificial colors and sweeteners.
Citric acid and vitamin C.
Melons, especially watermelon and cantaloupe.
Any other foods to which your child is known to be allergic.
