Two-Crust Pizza

Think of this as a pizza sandwich. Supervising adults should cut the pie into four to six slices with a sharp knife.

Makes one 9 × 9-inch pizza

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 8 slices ham
  • 4 slices turkey breast
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese
  1. On a lightly floured surface, unroll pizza crust and stretch into a 9 × 18-inch rectangle. Cut the crust in half, making two 9 × 9-inch squares.

  2. Brush squares lightly with oil and place on a baking sheet lined with nonstick foil. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.

  3. Brush the crusts with pizza sauce, then layer ham, turkey, and cheeses over one crust.

  4. Cover the top with the remaining crust and return to oven for 5 minutes or until cheese has melted. Let stand briefly, then slice and serve.

Pizza Pockets

Rolled-out biscuits can become quick pizza turnover crusts for kids' snacks. Just layer toppings over half a flattened, uncooked biscuit. Fold the other half over the toppings and pinch to seal. Bake at 350° for 12 to 14 minutes or until turnover has browned.
