Any toppings, finely chopped, can be used to make these easy pizza rolls. Try chopped broccoli, chopped niçoise olives, and Gorgonzola cheese to serve these to adults.
Makes 8 pinwheels
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
- 1½ cups pizza sauce or pasta sauce
- 1½ cups finely chopped pepperoni
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Unroll pizza dough on a waxed-paper-covered surface. Spread — or have children spread — pizza or pasta sauce over the dough. Sprinkle pepperoni and cheese over the sauce.
Lift crust from one of the long sides and roll tightly into a log with toppings encased. At this point, an adult with a sharp knife should slice the log into eight pinwheel rolls.
Place rolls on a baking sheet lined with nonstick foil and bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes until rolls are nicely browned. Let stand several minutes before serving.
