Chicken Nugget Pizza

Use chicken nuggets from your favorite fast-food restaurant or use frozen nuggets fried in hot oil or baked until browned. The pizza doesn't cook long enough to thaw and brown nuggets straight from the freezer.

Makes two 12-inch pizzas

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 (12-inch) ready-to-top pizza crusts
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce or 1 cup honey-mustard sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Colby cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 32 breaded chicken nuggets, cooked
  1. Place pizza crusts on perforated pizza pans. Allow children to spread each with half the barbecue sauce or honey mustard sauce.

  2. Sprinkle 1 cup Colby cheese and 1 cup mozzarella cheese over each pizza.

  3. Have children count out 16 chicken nuggets and arrange them evenly over the first pizza, then arrange the remaining nuggets over the second pizza.

  4. Bake each pizza at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes.

Nuggets Everywhere

Bits of crispy fried protein appeal to most kids. Chicken nuggets are a favorite, but you could substitute catfish nuggets, breaded cheese sticks, or even vegetarian nuggets made from soy protein. If you think nuggets sound too fatty, keep in mind that baking nuggets results in less fat content than frying.
