Banana Split Pizza
This is a great pizza to prepare for your favorite teen and his or her friends. Unless you have freezer space for leftovers, prepare the pizzas one at a time.
Makes two 12-inch pizzas
INGREDIENTS
- ½ recipe Sweet Crust dough or Chocolate Crust dough
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 cups Chocolate Ganache
- 6 large bananas
- 1 pint each chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream
- 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
- Whipped cream
- Maraschino cherries
Roll or press pizza dough into two 12-inch circles, slightly thicker at the edges than in the center. Coat pizza pans with the melted butter and place dough in the pans.
Bake dough at 375° for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Remove crusts from pans and place on racks to cool completely. Transfer to serving platters.
Spread 1 cup Chocolate Ganache over each pizza. Cut bananas in half horizontally, then cut each half in quarters. Arrange the banana strips in a spoke pattern over the chocolate.
With an ice cream scoop, place alternating scoops of each flavor of ice cream over each of the pizzas. Spoon chopped pineapple, caramel sauce, and strawberries over the scoops, one topping per scoop. Garnish with whipped cream and cherries. Serve immediately.
