Leftovers Pizza

Use your imagination, and all those little plastic containers of leftover food, to top this pizza. Recycled leftovers never tasted so good.

Makes two 12-inch pizzas

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 (12-inch) ready-to-top pizza crusts
  • 1½ cups thick pasta sauce
  • 1 cup browned ground beef or chopped meatballs
  • 1 cup chopped chicken or ham
  • 1 cup drained peas or chopped broccoli
  • 2 green onions, minced
  • 2 teaspoons mixed dried herbs
  • 1 pound sliced cheese (any varieties)
  1. Place one pizza crust on a perforated pizza pan or pizza stone. Spread with half the pasta sauce and top with half the meats and vegetables.

  2. Sprinkle with half the green onions and herbs. Place half the cheese slices, overlapping, over the toppings.

  3. Bake the pizza in a 450° oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and let stand for a few minutes before slicing. Repeat process with the second crust and remaining ingredients.
