Dead Men Make Good Tales
Myths and legends are intrinsically linked to history and have been since the dawn of man. When it comes to piracy, there are arguably more fables than fact, especially in regard to famed pirates ranging from Blackbeard to Captain Kidd. Ghosts, secret spoils, and epic battles of the sword are woven throughout the pirate realm, and with each passing generation the tales of treachery, torment, and even the identity of pirates themselves become more elaborate and exceedingly grandiose. Was there really a pirate called Half-Arse? Did Captain Kidd really bury a fabulous treasure trove? Who are Gunpowder Gertie and the Cobham pirates?
