Putting It All Together
Music is a structured language, and just as vowels and consonants give rise to words and sentences, so do notes form patterns to create scales, chords, and melodies. As you study music theory in later chapters you will discover that the different scales are the fundamental structures that bind all elements of music together, and a full understanding of how they work will improve your musical abilities tremendously. Later on you will learn the proper fingering for the remaining major scales and for extending your scales to several octaves.
