Now that you have a reference point, it is possible to play many different melodies and songs using just the five notes of the C position and the five fingers of each hand. Figure 3-9 contains some famous melodies that you can now play using just finger numbers. Use your listening skills to determine the correct rhythm for the melody, and be sure you do not stray from C position. As always, go slowly at first, and be sure to use the correct playing posture for all of your practicing. Listen to the accompanying CD as well to hear how the examples are supposed to sound.
