In the twentieth century, analytic philosophy emerged. This approach included an interest in the natural sciences, linguistics, and logic. Philosophizers were making careers in academia, and cynics suggested that if Universal Truth was ever found, they would be out of jobs. Nevertheless, analytic philosophy was a dominant philosophical strain.
