England had the Empiricists, France had the Illuminists, and the Germans spawned the school of philosophers we call the Idealists. While the British and French emphasized the senses as the only path to knowledge, the Germans placed the focus on the mind, thoughts, and ideas. A big influence on this movement was Liebniz.
