Brain Gym
Brain Gym is a series of 26 exercises designed to help learners coordinate their brains and their bodies better. It consists of simple movements similar to natural movements, such as crawling, that are part of early childhood development. The goal of the program is to improve your child's sense of balance and ability to focus, as well as to relieve stress. Many of the movements can be done while a child is seated, and the exercises can be easily incorporated into a classroom setting.
It is not usually used as a specific therapy for learning disabilities, but rather as an approach to enhance the learning process for all children; however, it often is very helpful to children with attention focus problems and learning disabilities. This program will not resolve all problems, but it is a simple and easy-to-learn approach that may provide a needed boost to your child's overall readiness to learn.
