Because the symptoms and traits of Asperger's Syndrome can be subtle, parents may not recognize any differences in their child until he is age three or older. Pursuing a formal diagnosis is a family's individual decision to make. There are avenues available to aid in this process and a system of community-based and educational services and supports in place to help meet the needs of the child and his family.
