Choosing the right type of therapy for your child can be a bit challenging, so this chapter will serve as a guide. It is important to keep in mind that not all therapists are skilled in all types of therapy, and that the approach used will be based on your clinician's training and the setting in which she practices. In general, there are three basic types of therapy: individual, family, and group, and many of the therapies described in the following sections can be used in all three settings with a child with anxiety.
