As we have seen, paralegals work with lawyers in many different settings, including private law firms, government “law firms” such as a prosecuting attorney's office, government regulatory agencies, and a variety of corporate or other nonlaw firm settings. However, since over 70 percent of all paralegals work for private law firm s, this chapter will focus on that setting and the significant differences in the ways law firms are organized and operate.
