Orange Marmalade Stuffed French Toast
You'll enjoy this recipe if you've already tried several of the fruit-filled French toasts and are ready to take it to the next level. The addition of cream cheese makes this stuffed French toast taste more like a Danish pastry. Whether it's breakfast time, snack time, or tea time, this panini will do the trick.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 1
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 slices Portuguese sweet bread
- 3 tablespoons orange marmalade
- 3 tablespoons cream cheese
- Powdered sugar, to taste
Preheat the panini press. In a large flat container, mix egg, milk, and cinnamon with a whisk.
Place 1 slice of bread on counter and spread with the orange marmalade. Spread cream cheese on the second slice of bread and place onto other half.
Dunk sandwich into milk mixture, then flip to coat opposite side.
Place coated sandwich on panini press and close lid. Cook for 3–5 minutes.
Remove from press and slice panini in half. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
