The Adornments of the Hand

You can further build on your knowledge of what the markings of the palm represent by looking at some of its more exotic features, like the bracelets, bows, rings, and so forth. Some people have many such lines and features, making their hands an interesting challenge to interpret; others have very few, presenting a much simpler task. But in either case, these ornaments to the hand, with their evocative and decorative names, add interest to the art of palmistry. Sometimes, reading a palm can sound like a dress-up event because of the images that these names convey.

The Bracelets

Bracelets or rascettes

The bracelets, also known as rascettes or rascette lines, are a charming attribute that can lead to a greater understanding of what the person will face in life. They are especially highly regarded in the Eastern tradition of palmistry, where the rascettes are a mark of a long life. Every person has some form of a rascette on the hand, and it is located between the palm and the wrist.

In general, the more rings the better, as each ring is said to represent about thirty years in the duration of a life, and a partial ring a fraction of that. It may be hard to get an exact figure, but in general, the longer and stronger the rascette, the longer and healthier the life. However, a chained rascette indicates a life of turmoil.

You should be especially aware of the topmost rascette, the one nearest the palm. If it is curved or broken on a woman's hand, it means health problems specific to females; on a male's hand it signals potential hormonal problems. If you see a star in the middle of the top rascette, look for an inheritance, but if you see a cross, you will have problems as you separate from your family.

The Bow of Intuition

The bow of intuition

One rare palmistry sign is a bow of intuition, a line in the shape of a crescent that runs on the percussion side of the hand from the Luna mount to the mount of Mercury. The bow of intuition is a highly positive sign; the person who has it is likely to be unusually intuitive, sensitive, perceptive, and aware of the thoughts and emotions of others. In other words, the bow of intuition is very apparent on the hands of psychics.
