Beef Brochettes
If you are using bamboo skewers, soak them in water for about 1 hour before using to help prevent burning or catching them on fire while grilling.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 10 skewers
- 1 cup steak sauce
- ¼ cup Italian dressing
- ¼ cup agave nectar
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 pound beef sirloin or sirloin steak
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into squares
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into squares
- 1 pineapple, cut into squares
In blender, combine steak sauce, Italian dressing, agave nectar, and garlic. Blend until smooth. Pour into glass baking dish.
Cut beef into cubes and place beef in the baking dish, cover, and marinate over night.
Use bamboo skewers to grill brochettes. When making the skewers, separate the beef and the vegetables on different skewers for ease of cooking.
Grill until done, about 10 minutes for vegetables and approximately 15 minutes for meat. Remove from skewer before giving to children.
Skewer Tips
You can also soak the skewers in beef broth for 1 hour which will provide more flavor while cooking. Coat the skewer lightly with canola oil, which can withstand the high heat of the grill. Instead of putting meat and vegetables on same skewer, separate onto 2 different skewers since they have different cooking times.
