Maple Barley Breakfast

INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 1 cup

  • ½ cup milk (dairy or soy)
  • ⅔ cup cooked barley
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  1. In a small saucepan, warm milk.

  2. Top barley with warm milk and maple syrup.

Barley — A Fiber-Rich Grain

Although pearled barley is not a whole grain (the hull has been removed), it is still high in fiber. This is because dietary fiber is found throughout the barley grain. Barley can be a helpful digestive aid in children with constipation due to its high-fiber content.
