Mashed Turnip & Sweet Potato
Although the outside of turnips can be white, purple, or green, the inside is all white.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS ½ cup
- 1 small turnip
- ⅛ cup water
- 4 tablespoons Sweet Potato Purée
Peel turnip and chop into small chunks.
In a small saucepan, combine turnip and water. Bring to a boil and cook until the turnip is tender, approximately 10 minutes depending on the size of the chunks.
Transfer turnip to a blender or food processor. Purée. Combine turnip purée with Sweet Potato Purée.
Once you've frozen extra baby food in an ice cube tray, transfer the cubes to a freezer-safe bag or container. Be sure to put a label on the container describing the contents and adding the date. Fruits and vegetables can be frozen for up to six months, and meats can be frozen up to three months.
