Chicken with Cherries & Brown Rice
Cook a plain extra chicken breast when you cook dinner for your family to use in a purée for your infant.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 2 cups
- 6 cups water
- 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
- ½ cup pitted cherries
- 1 cup cooked brown rice
In a large pot bring the 6 cups of water to a boil. Place chicken breast in pot and boil until done, approximately 10 minutes. Once done, cut into small pieces and allow to cool.
Combine chicken, cherries, and brown rice.
Use a food processor or blender until desired consistency reached. Use broth from cooking the chicken, breast milk, or iron-fortified formula to reach an age-appropriate consistency. If consistency is too chunky, drain through a sieve and purée remaining liquid.
