Chicken with Cherries & Brown Rice

Cook a plain extra chicken breast when you cook dinner for your family to use in a purée for your infant.

INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 2 cups

  • 6 cups water
  • 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • ½ cup pitted cherries
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice
  1. In a large pot bring the 6 cups of water to a boil. Place chicken breast in pot and boil until done, approximately 10 minutes. Once done, cut into small pieces and allow to cool.

  2. Combine chicken, cherries, and brown rice.

  3. Use a food processor or blender until desired consistency reached. Use broth from cooking the chicken, breast milk, or iron-fortified formula to reach an age-appropriate consistency. If consistency is too chunky, drain through a sieve and purée remaining liquid.
