Not So Fast, Honey!
When it's time to start thinking about adding sweeteners to your baby's diet, whether it's for baking or cooking, one natural choice needs to wait. Babies should not have any honey until after one year. Their immature digestive systems cannot adequately process honey, and it can lead to a form of botulism, a serious food poisoning. If you need to turn to a sweetener before one year old, consider apple juice concentrate, maple syrup, or agave nectar.
