Oatmeal with Cinnamon Apples
This hearty dish is great in the fall when apples are abundant. Pick apples at your local apple farm and use them for breakfast!
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 2 cups
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup apple juice
- 1 golden delicious apple, peeled, cored and chopped
- ⅔ cup rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1–2 tablespoons light agave nectar
- 1 cup milk
In a small saucepan, combine water, apple juice, and apple. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, stir in rolled oats and cinnamon. Return to a boil.
Reduce heat down to low and simmer to desired thickness, about 3–5 minutes.
Add agave nectar to reach desired sweetness.
Pour milk over servings and serve.
