Oatmeal with Cinnamon Apples

This hearty dish is great in the fall when apples are abundant. Pick apples at your local apple farm and use them for breakfast!

INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 2 cups

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 1 golden delicious apple, peeled, cored and chopped
  • ⅔ cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1–2 tablespoons light agave nectar
  • 1 cup milk
  1. In a small saucepan, combine water, apple juice, and apple. Bring to a boil.

  2. Once boiling, stir in rolled oats and cinnamon. Return to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat down to low and simmer to desired thickness, about 3–5 minutes.

  4. Add agave nectar to reach desired sweetness.

  5. Pour milk over servings and serve.
