Sunflower Seed Butter

Since peanut butter is off-limits due to potential food allergies for little children, sunflower seed butter steps in to create delicious recipes. Due to its peanut-butter–like consistency, it shouldn't be given to children under three years on its own, but it can be baked up in muffins or blended in smoothies and dips. Sunflower seed butter is available commercially or you can make your own by tossing roasted sunflower seeds (without the shells) in the food processor with a little canola oil. Process until smooth.
