Mixed Fruit Yogurt Smoothie
Feel free to substitute other fruits, such as honeydew, strawberries, or bananas.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 5 cups
- 1 cup frozen cantaloupe chunks
- 1 cup frozen pineapple pieces
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt (dairy or soy)
- 1 cup milk (dairy or soy)
- 1 cup apple juice
Combine all ingredients.
Blend well.
Nondairy Milk Alternatives
Not all young children are able to tolerate organic cow's milk. Fortunately, there are a number of nondairy milk alternatives available at well-stocked grocery stores. These are not meant to replace formula, but to be used in place of whole milk when an alternative is recommended. Look for vitamin-enriched milk alternatives. High-quality options include soy, rice, oat, or even hemp milk.
