UNDOUBTEDLY, YOU KNOW THIS by now: Having a family member or friend who has OCD can be an exercise in extreme frustration. Activities you enjoyed together only a short time ago may now be constrained, unpleasant, or even impossible. Your friend may act anxious where she used to seem carefree. You might well wonder: What happened? What happened, of course, is that your friend's OCD symptoms began or worsened.
