It is your first day of school. You enter your classroom to find one student who is gifted/learning disabled, one student who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair, one who has serious visual learning disabilities, and twenty-seven who do not need special accommodations. As the teacher, you will be expected to teach all of the students in your class. This chapter should help to familiarize you with terms and issues you will face each day as a teacher of special-needs students.
