Who to Call for Help

Just as you will want to post your puppy's schedule on your refrigerator so that it is prominently displayed and easier to follow, do the same with the phone numbers of people you can call if you have any concerns about your puppy. Put these numbers on your cell phone, too, so you can reach them at any time. This list can include:

  • Your puppy's breeder or, if your pup is a rescue or adopted, the former caretaker

  • Your veterinarian

  • A neighbor or friend who can pinch-hit for you should you get stuck in traffic and be late to let your pup out

  • A poison hotline should you suspect your pup has eaten something dangerous (888-426-4435)
