Why Exercise Is So Important
It's a fact for puppies and people alike: exercise is just plain good for you all over. It keeps your weight in check; it helps maintain all vital organs, especially the heart and lungs; posture is supported by healthy muscles; endorphins stimulate a more positive attitude — it's a win-win endeavor.
Puppies who don't go out, who don't get to stretch their legs, use their noses, explore their world, play with others — who don't get to be puppies — literally go crazy and in turn drive their human companions crazy. These pups often resort to the problem behaviors described in Chapter 14 — often because they have nothing else to do. A sad and avoidable plight.
