In the health care industry, learning is an ongoing process. As a nurse, you are compelled to continue your education in order to renew your license. Possibly the only exception is your first license renewal period. But after that you will have to take continuing education units in each renewal period as long as you wish to keep your license active to practice nursing. This varies somewhat by state.
