Transportation

When all of the major vendors are in place, be sure you know how your daughter, as well as the entire wedding party, is going to get to the ceremony. You also need to ensure that the guests will arrive on time.

Wedding Party Transportation

If most of your wedding party is local, it is not out of the question to have them drive themselves to the ceremony and reception. Depending on how formal the wedding is and how close in proximity the reception is to the hotel where everyone is staying, you may be able to get away with just having the bride have special transportation or drive in your sister's Mercedes. However, once your daughter's bridesmaid list gets to be over three or four, you may find it easier to keep them all together and on time by having limos waiting for them. When it comes to you and the father of the bride, why not take a luxury car to the ceremony and to the reception? You may find that adding a luxury sedan to the list of three other limos may only be a fraction of the cost of the limos and well-worth the peace of mind!

Guest Transportation

It is not uncommon these days for the bride and groom to provide shuttle transportation for their guests if they have a large out-of-town contingency. However, if you are having your reception at a hotel, try to advise the guests to stay at that hotel or close by. A quick cab ride is not going to hurt a guest's feelings. You will find that if a guest is willing to attend your daughter's wedding, they are willing to find their way there. It is common courtesy, however, if you have a lot of guests coming from out of town to find some sort of transportation for them, especially if the hotels you have chosen are far from your ceremony and reception sites.
