Nogada Sauce
Heat and serve over anything from pork chops to cheese-stuffed jalapeño peppers.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 1¼ cups
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 garlic clove
- 5 peppercorns
- ¼ cup bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons water
Peel the garlic.
Add the walnuts, garlic, peppercorns, and bread crumbs to a food processor or blender. Blend until finely ground.
Add the vinegar to the mixture; stir well. Stir in the sugar and salt. Add just enough water to make a thick sauce.
