Use thicker asparagus to withstand the heat of the grill. Be sure to remove the woody end of the stalk first.
2 bunches asparagus
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt, to taste (optional)
Fresh-cracked black pepper, to taste
Preheat grill to medium. Toss the asparagus in the oil, then drain on a rack and season with salt and pepper. Grill the asparagus for 1 to 2 minutes on each side (cook to desired doneness). Serve immediately.
