Date-Almond Tart

Serves 6

For an added kick, use flavored yogurt with this recipe.

1 cup flour

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 teaspoon ice water

1 cup chopped dried dates

½ cup chopped almonds

½ cup honey

1 cup plain nonfat yogurt

¼ cup confectioners' sugar

  • Preheat oven to 375°.

  • Mix together flour, olive oil, and ice water to form dough. Roll out dough into pie shell. Place in quiche or pie pan.

  • Mix together the dates, almonds, and honey. Place the date mixture in the center of the dough and loosely fold over pastry edges.

  • Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool and serve with yogurt and sprinkled confectioners sugar.
