Banana Split Shake Recipe

This shake does taste like a banana split in a glass, but it's healthier. If you use frozen bananas, omit the ice cubes.

COST PER SERVING ► 85¢

SERVES ► 6

  • 3 bananas, peeled
  • 2 cups vanilla yogurt
  • ⅓ cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup canned pitted cherries, drained, reserving juice
  • ½ cup dry milk powder
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 cup Whole Grain Granola
  1. Cut bananas into chunks.

  2. In blender or food processor, combine bananas, yogurt, chocolate syrup, cherries, dry milk powder, and ¼ cup reserved cherry juice. Cover and blend or process until smooth.

  3. Add ice cubes, cover, and blend or process until mixture is smooth and thick.

  4. Spoon into six tall glasses and top with the granola. Serve immediately.

Leftover Bananas

When your bananas start to become too ripe to eat out of hand, peel them, cut into chunks, and freeze in freezer bags up to three months. Use them in this and other smoothie recipes. Or they can be used in Honey Banana-Cranberry Bread; just thaw and mash.
