Though you may not believe it, what employees want from their managers is fairly simple. They want to work under clear and reasonable expectations, they want to receive honest and constructive feedback, and they want to be treated fairly. Just like their employees, of course, managers are only human. They can't do everything and be everywhere at once. At the same time, managers do need to be acutely aware of the way their actions affect others. When managers act inappropriately, unpredictably, or inconsistently, it has a negative impact on the entire organization.
